5 Things I Do To Jumpstart My Mornings

5 Things I Do To Jumpstart My Mornings

There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that stay awake through the night until its 4 AM and then there’s those that wake up bright and early, literally jumping out of bed kind of deal. That would be me hahaa. Let’s face it. Most people don’t do mornings and I totally get it. You’re tired, your job doesn’t have you jumping up for joy. Whatever it is, I wanted to share a few things I do to get a jump start to my mornings no matter what! So let’s skip the obvious like going to bed early or setting your alarm and get into the good stuff.

Shine Text Messages / Diving Into The Word

This one is so important to me and it was only recently that I’ve started incorporating God’s word into my morning routine. I love starting my morning with a devotional because it really sets up my day, I don’t know if that makes sense. But I find that when I spend time with God first thing in the morning, I’m in such a better mood throughout the day, I handle things better if they go wrong, I’m more at peace, less stress. The list goes on and on. But I know not everyone is on the same walk as me which is why I wanna tell you guys about Shine Text, messages of affirmations, motivational quotes, and actions you can take every morning delivered straight to your phone. How awesome is that! I’ve been subscribed to their text messages for about a year now and I love reading them every morning especially on those rough days.

Planning The Night Before

Okay so I know you’ve heard this one before but I like to take it to another level. When I say plan the night before, I literally mean plan it ALL. If you’re always rushing out the door without eating breakfast, make your breakfast the night before & have it ready the next morning. If you’re like me and lose focus on what you should be doing at work, write it out before you go to bed. Literally write a to-do list of the things you want to accomplish at work, school, everything. I even write when I’ll shower, when I’ll have lunch, etc. And I don’t know about you but I get my bag/bookbag ready for the next day too so that way I’m not rushing the morning of because what ends up happening always is that I forget my wallet or my charger. So literally plan. it. all.

Get Ready First Thing In The Morning

This is probably my BIGGEST hack out of the five things I do. I use to struggle all the time in the mornings when I would get ready because I would look for my outfit and it would honestly take me an hour just to find something. And I would fall so behind because then I’d have to do my makeup, my hair. In other words, it was a mess lol. But now I just hop out of the shower and the first thing I do is throw on my robe and start doing my makeup and hair. I skip the whole looking for my outfit and instead I think about what I’m gonna wear as I’m getting ready. And by the time I’m done with everything, I throw my outfit on and I’m out the door. It saves me so much time!

Have That Brain Food

I’m sure you guys have heard this before but I’ll say it again, breakfast is so so important to have. I know so many people that skip breakfast and I’m like how! Lol breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I literally wake up looking forward to what I’m gonna eat, I plan it out, I do the whole shabang. My go-to’s in the morning are acai bowls (it’s super quick and easy especially with this one I picked up at Walmart), instant oatmeal with a slice of toast or two boiled eggs. And we can’t forget about caffeine of course. Can’t make it through the whole day without coffee hahaa.

Skip The Scrolling, Answering Emails, etc.

This is by far the hardest to do but so so effective when it comes to having a productive, great, focused morning lol. But seriously. How often do we wake up and the first thing we do is pick up our phones and go to Instagram and scroll and scroll and scroll for a good 30 minutes? I found myself doing this too often and really wanted to break the habit. So besides my alarm clock, my phone is no longer a part of my morning routine. Instagram can wait, those emails can wait. Whatever you have going on can wait. The other day I read a quote that said “You can’t pour from an empty cup” and I couldn’t agree more. So make your morning routine about YOUU!

Love you guys! Let me know what you do to jumpstart your mornings! I wanna know hahaa.

Till next time!

xoxo, Cindy
