If you know anything about me, then you know my obsession with lattes, macchiatos, coladas, espressos. Basically anything coffee related, I’m your girl. I drink coffee every day and as you can imagine, all the years of drinking coffee and soda, wine, and tea have led me to have not so white teeth. But it wasn’t until recently that I wanted to achieve a whiter smile.
On December 22, 2017, Alex proposed to me. And the first thing that went through my mind was “I need to make sure I look perfect!” Hair, makeup, dress, my SMILE! Hahaa pretty much everything from head to toe. And with 2018 in full swing, there are going to be a ton of big moments which brings a ton of photo opportunities.
So when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their customized whitening treatment, I was ALL IN. Before, I really had no experience with any professional whitening system. I had used whitening strips but those were always so uncomfortable and would never really stay put on my teeth. But Smile Brilliant is leading the way in at-home whitening systems. They’ve eliminated the trip to a dentist office by offering a system that allows you (and me) to make our own dental impressions. I know I know. Making our own dental impressions? Cindy I’m not a dentist! I can’t make my own dental impression. This was my same worry but it was actually so easy to do. And I’m gonna walk you through the whole process.
I received a box with teeth whitening gel, desensitizing gel (in case you experience sensitivity), two plastic trays, and putty to make my impressions. To make the impressions, I mixed both the Catalyst and Base putties together until they were well combined. Then I placed the putty into the plastic tray and inserted the tray into my upper mouth. I held it in place for 3 minutes and voila. I had my upper impression. I repeated the same steps for my bottom impression and mailed it back to Smile Brilliant and they took care of the rest!
And once I received my impressions back, the whitening process was so easy. I whitened every night for 45 minutes and then applied the desensitizing gel for 20 minutes. And I did it at night right before going to sleep. P.S. the first two times I thought my teeth can handle going without the desensitizing gel but boy was I wrong. So if you do experience tooth sensitivity after whitening, definitely use the gel because it will help TREMENDOUSLY.
Ohh and did I mention that Smile Brilliant wants to give you one of you guys their teeth
whitening kit? (seriously). I’ve loved my experience with them. The whole process seems intimidating at first but it’s really not. Then, in the end, you see your before and after and it’s day and night.
