Holiday Season In Florida

The holiday season in Florida is like no other. It’s hands down my favorite time of the year. The weather (slight difference from the usual 100℉), the decorating, the fun corny things we do with family and friends, the FOOD! For the past three years, Alex and I have been building our own Christmas tradition as a way to really get into the holiday spirit. And we love to look back at the last 12 months and really reflect on everything God’s done in our lives. So I hope you guys create your own traditions with the ones you love most. Okay, let’s get on with what you really came here for.

HOLIDAY FANTASY OF LIGHTS + BIG BEAR BREWERY

We’ve been going to Holiday Fantasy of Lights every year and it’s always as magical as it was the first time. It’s hosted at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek and you get to drive through the park and see amazing holiday light displays. They also give you these 3D glasses so you get a WHOLE different experience. So we’ll pack the car with friends and blast Mariah Carey’s Christmas album while driving through. And something we’ve meant to do but always forget is to bring hot cocoa with us. I know what you might be thinking. “Wow Cindy does it get any cheesier than this?” Hahaa.

Since Fantasy Lights doesn’t take too long, we always go eat nearby at Big Bear Brewery. And let me tell yaa. This is the coolest brewery you’ll ever go to in Coral Springs. For the holidays, they decorate the whole restaurant with Christmas lights and the place just has this amazing vibe to it that makes you feel at home. Some of our favorite starters are the Seared Rare Ahi Tuna, the Brie Pillow, and the Bavarian Pretzel Bread, the French Onion Soup, and the Beer Muenster Cheese Soup (literally. to. die. for.). And for the main plates, we’ve ordered a lot of different things so I’ll spare you the list and just tell you this. You won’t go wrong with anything you order from this place. I promise.

Other great spots to eat are Metro Diner which is also nearby and has an amazing menu of home-cooked dishes (if the soup of the day is Tomato Bisque, ORDER IT).

Now I wanna know what your Christmas traditions are! What’s something you do with family or friends that totally gets you in the holiday spirit? Leave me some love in the comments below. Holiday Fantasy of Lights and Big Bear Brewery
